TOURING EXHIBITIONS

Manitoba Arts Network touring exhibitions are available for one month bookings to both Arts Network members and non-members. Arts Network Members received a discounted rate on all regular tour bookings. The savings on a single booking covers the cost of Arts Network Membership!

The general one-month booking fee for touring exhibitions is $375 for Members and $475 for non-members. Special project rates occasionally apply for some shows. The monthly booking fee ARTmarks exhibitions (STAMPworks) is only $100!

Exhibitions may also be booked for multiple months if slots are available. The booking fee covers all general costs of the exhibition, including shipping, insurance and educational supplements. Detailed, illustrated exhibition installatrion and handling guidelines are provided with all touring shows. All shipping for our Touring Exhibitions has been generously donated by Gardewine North.

STAMPworks

The Manitoba Arts Network and Manitoba’s Public Libraries are teaming up once again for another ARTmarks project. We are developing an exhibition of unique STAMPworks created by Manitoba artists which will tour Manitoba for two years beginning in March 2011. Our ARTmarks exhibition tours are geared specifically for libraries and smaller community venues and to fit smaller budgets too!

The exhibition is available for bookings in 2011-2013. The regular ARTmarks monthly booking fee for this exhibition is $100. Contact Tim Schouten, Visual Arts Progarm Coordinator for bookings and more information.

Personal Politics
Personal Politics

Personal Politics is a touring exhibition of prints produced at Martha Street Studio in Winnipeg by six prominent contemporary Manitoba artists; Scott Benesiinaabandan, Aganetha Dyck, Jeanette Johns, Sara Anne Johnson, Kristin Nelson and Darren Stebeleski. All of these artists explore their respective personal politics within the framework of their art practices. Produced under the curatorial direction of Sheila Spence, Executive Director of Martha Street Studio, the exhibition will travel until March 2012 following its debut at NORVA Centre in Flin Flon during Culture Days.

Portraits Of Winnipeg: The River City in Pen and Ink

In Portraits of Winnipeg: The River City in Pen and Ink, Winnipeg artist and designer, Robert J. Sweeney, captures Winnipeg’s urban landscape in this remarkable collection of coloured sketches. Each portrait brings to life in brilliant colour, the many faces of Manitoba’s “River City.” This exhibition is circulated in collaboartion withManitoba's premier book publisher Turnstone Press. The show includes a selection of 16 limited edition prints from Robert J. Sweeney's original drawings for the book of the same title as well as one original pencil drawing.

With over forty full colour illustrations of Winnipeg’s most loved locations, the book,Portraits of Winnipeg: The River City in Pen and Ink captures the true spirit of the city. From Portage and Main to the Forks, to Kildonan Park’s “Witch’s Hut” Sweeney’s keen eye captures the familiar sights of Winnipeg and its surrounding suburban areas with extraordinary detail and precision. Portraits of Winnipeg: The River City in Pen and Ink is a delightful book for any lover of architecture and urban landscapes.

Copies of the book will be available for sale and a limited number of prints are also available for sale through Turnstone Press.

MOSAIC Crafting the

This exhibition consists of a selection of works from the Permanent Collection of the Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library. It is a "pared down for travel" version of a larger exhibition originally presented at the Crafts Museum in 2008 by Curator Andrea Reichert. The travelling version of the show is called MOSAIC On Tour. The show will travel with it's own special display cases and display mannequins and also includes wall hung pieces.

This exhibition is available for bookingss in 2011. A special monthly booking fee for this exhibition of $475 for members and $575 for non-members will apply to this tour. Contact Tim Schouten, Visual Arts Progarm Coordinator for bookings and more information.

Love You Forever

This exhibition tour has now concluded. The exhibition featured the original illustrations by Sheila McGraw from the all time best-selling children’s book Love You Forever by Robert Munsch, published in 1986. It also included two illustrations not used in the book.

The artworks were generously loaned for the tour by Bonnie and John Buhler through the The Buhler Gallery in Winnipeg. Manitoba Arts Network was delighted to be able to include this exhibition in it’s touring program.
