THE ANNUAL RURAL & NORTHERN ART SHOW
Manitoba Arts Networkhas entered into a new partnership in 2011 with The Assiniboine Park Conservancy in Winnipeg for The Annual Rural & Northern Art Show. We now have two galleries for the show each year. The main exhibition is featured on the 2nd floor of the Pavilion Gallery Museum in Assiniboine Parkand and the Conservatory Foyer in the adjacent Conservatory building features artworks selected in the youth categories. The Manitoba Arts Network presented the 9th Annual Rural and Northern Art Show in it's new home for the first time this year at The Pavilion Gallery Museum. The exhibition included award-winning artworks by over seventy artists from Manitoba’s six annual Regional Juried Art Shows, highlighting the skill and diversity of art being created in rural Manitoba. The show remained on display through the Culture Days weekend at Assiniboine Park, bringing many additional viewers through the exhibition. The People's Choice Award, a gift bag of art books and exhibition catalogs was sponsored by The Pavilion Gallery Museum. The winner was Marguerite Setter fo her lovely work, Sampling Mice.

The 8th Annual Rural and Northern Art Show was on display from July 2 - 25, 2010 on the 6th Floor of The Bay Downtown in Winnipeg, MB. The People's Choice Award went to Linda Hanneson from Portage la Prairie for her watercolor, "Ribbons of Gold". She received a fabulous pair of Hudson Bay Beach Towels, courtesy of The Bay.
With the generous support of The Winnipeg Foundation, the Manitoba Arts Network was pleased to once again partner with The Bay Downtown on this wonderful annual exhibition. Presenting the skills and diversity of work created by over 100 visual artists living and working in rural and northern Manitoba, this years exhibition included works from all six regional juried art exhibitions held throughout the province. |
