Our Visual Arts Program organizes and circulates exhibitions of visual artworks created by Manitoba artists to galleries throughout the province. This program is a resource for visual arts education at the community level and supports opportunities for professional artists to tour their work throughout Manitoba. These programs are designed to encourage the development of arts and cultural activity in rural and remote communities.

Congratulations to all the participating artists in the 8th Annual Rural and Northern Art Show at The Bay Downtown. The exhibition was on display from July 2 - 25, 2010 on the 6th Floor of The Bay Downtown in Winnipeg, MB. The People's Choice Award went to Linda Hanneson from Portage la Prairie for her watercolor, "Ribbons of Gold". She received a fabulous pair of Hudson Bay Beach Towels, courtesy of The Bay.

With the generous support of The Winnipeg Foundation, the Manitoba Arts Network was pleased to once again partner with The Bay Downtown on this wonderful annual exhibition.  Presenting the skills and diversity of work created by over 100 visual artists living and working in rural and northern Manitoba, this years exhibition included works from all six regional juried art exhibitions held throughout the province.

ARTmarks: a Manitoba bookmark exhibition

STAMPworks: a unique Postage Stamp exhibition

The popular Manitoba Arts Network exhibit, ARTmarks: a Manitoba bookmark Exhibition is made up of over 80 art inspired 'bookmarks' created by Manitoba artists. The exhibition is available for 1 month bookings until November 2010. The three year tour of the show will come to a close with a final stop at Brandon Public Library in Decemeber 2010. The next iteration of our ARTmarks project will be called, STAMPworks: a unique Postage Stamp exhibition. The call to artists will go out later in the summer and the tour of the show is slated to begin in January of 2011.
