ABOUT US

The Manitoba Arts Network is the provincial programming body representing community arts councils and community arts programming organizations throughout Manitoba. Manitoba Arts Network is in its 27th year of operation as a provincial network of community arts organizations. Our mission is to foster arts and culture in rural and northern Manitoba and the programming and services are both promotional and developmental.

With its roots as Manitoba Association of Community Arts Councils, the operating name of Manitoba Arts Network has been registered and certified as our legal name as of October 17, 2009. We operate with a board and committee structure. Our Board is made up of representatives of member councils, and our committees are made up of member organization representatives and individual artists.

We offer a Visual Arts Program and a Performance Arts Touring Program for our members: both programs are directed by committees made up of representatives of our membership.

Manitoba Arts Network presents the annual Manitoba Showcase Contact Event each October in a different Manitoba community.

Our base funding comes from the Arts Branch of Manitoba Culture Heritage and Tourism. Project funding for the current year has been received from Canadian Heritage Arts Presentation Program, Travel Manitoba and from Manitoba Arts Council.
